Someone put up a video of my original capoeira master from 1995. Good old Mestre Bom Jesus. Brings back memories, as that was my first full years of training and I remember the faces and the space very well.

It doesn't seem like thirteen years ago.

Dude, I didn't know you were in Only the Strong, I f'n loved that movie. Anytime a special forces soldier starts teaching high school in a bad neighborhood, you know some primo ass-kicking is about to ensue. Nah nah nah way...

All it needed was Gene Hackman.

Seriously though, that's some killer stuff, now I feel like a tool for not working out in 3 months though.

A Short Aside

One of my favorite pleasures is spending quiet Sunday mornings with a cup of coffee and the NY Times. Highlights from this Sunday include a piece about 1970's New York and it's reflection on the ABC show 'Life on Mars' , an appreciation for the TED lecture series, a profile of one of contemporary China's best selling writers, and the role of internet social networks and protests on the Arab street.
